Motley Mag
This is an archival website dedicated to Worm Literature's Motley Mag edited by João Bresler which ran for 9 months from October of 2022 to July of 2023 with 5 published volumes, with 806 pages and 168 collaborators in total.
Every Volume of Motley featured a little text on the back cover that rambled about what that specific volume talked about, never being too practical about themes, and not doing much to help categorize the magazine but attempting to put a title on it other than the volume number.
Here are the texts from the 5 volumes of Motley Mag in chronological order:
Motley Mag VOL.1
this issue of motley mag is about frustration in the search for coherence and meaning, and the acceptance of a chaotic creative process with the possible outcome of a viewer-constructed coherence and meaning.
if it had a title: the extrospection of creation
Motley Mag VOL.2
this issue of motley mag is about entering new projects that intend to stay here for a while, whether we want or not. while also fighting to handle the pressure of existence itself and every little or big effort of staying alive, or nor even alive, but in this not always rewarding constance.
if it had a title: the not so successful sophomore
Motley Mag VOL.3
chaos can be transformed into something meaningful, beautiful. art has the power to make sense of the sen-seless. embrace chaos and see what meanings are shown upon us.
if it had a title: somewhere on earth i hope
Motley Mag Death of Motley
this issue of motley mag is about tigers, furniture, utopia, invented organs, visitors, incorrect roman numbering and a bit of motley after all.
if it had a title: it has a title: death of motley
Motley Mag VOL.4=5
thank you for sticking around.
title: This is the end, beautiful friend, the end
